Marjani Founder, Kimberly Smith, Speaks at the She Did That Screening - Marjani
On Wednesday, our Founder Kim Smith participated in a fireside chat at the She Did That Film screening at Howard University. With over 150 attendees, the event showcased the beauty and the impact of black female entrepreneurship. Here's what happened at this amazing event!
Let's talk about the She Did That film first! Renae Bluitt’s first cinematic project, 'She Did That.,' explores the passionate pursuits of Black women and their entrepreneurship journeys. An extension of Renae's In Her Shoes blog, 'She Did That.' offers an intimate peek inside the lives of four Black women entrepreneurs who continuously raise the glass ceiling for future generations. The film features girl bosses Luvvie Ajayi, Lisa Price, Melissa Butler, and Tonya Rapley.
“My work does not define me. It’s important to have a life outside of your business” -Kimberly Smith, Marjani Beauty.
After the film screening, the ladies discussed the ups and downs of entrepreneurship, building an online and offline community, as well as answered attendee questions. Kim served as one of the panelists alongside Media Maven, Kela Walker, and Tamara Nall of The Leading Niche. Attendees were able to gain insight on female entrepreneurship and received many takeaways to use in their own journies.
The Marjani team is so proud of Kimberly for sharing her expertise at the event. We want to thank everyone who came to support not only Marjani but the other women in the room as well. We hope that you enjoyed the discussion!
Thank you to the She Did That film team for having Marjani at such an amazing event for women of color. Learn more about She Did That at  http://shedidthatfilm.com
